This blog is a means of communication with me, – the owner, and all of you out there interested in staying at Swanlamer 12, hopefully soon to be, our guests!

We rent Swanlamer 12 as a daily rental, or short term contracts,  on a professional basis. We also enjoy it as our holiday home, when we can.  Sadly we are not in Namibia right now, and so only get to see it once every couple of years. We are so looking forward to getting back there soon.

Nel’s Estates, our managers in Swakopmund are available to meet your needs throughout the check-in and checkout, and during your stay. A representative from Nels will show you around the apartment. Please remember it’s not 24-7 reception! But all you need to do is sms or phone in advance to to avoid delays.

We have tried to make Swanlamer the optimum we would expect, but please feel free to let me know if we are missing anything, I will try to include it. (Eg a guest emailed me last year to ask, “Why don’t we have a hairdryer!!!!?? – They are cheap to buy.”, the answer, it hadn’t even remotely crossed my mind, as I don’t use them, I didn’t realise; – We have now bought one for the apartment, – issue fixed).

It is a little difficult running a holiday house from abroad, that is, it’s  much easier to find out about issues when one stays there regularly, e.g. apparently our futon was a little lumpy, no one had mentioned it to us so we didn’t realised it needed replacing. We have now replaced it with a new, much firmer, mattress and a second sleeper couch.  Nel’s do an outstanding job of listening to guests and have free reign to fix issues as soon as we find them, but if no one tells us we don’t know!

Our other problem, lately guests love instant / last minute plans, as I often do this myself.  With our location, please, if you are looking for  a last minute booking and have not received a response, phone or sms Nel’s directly, this is the only way to guarantee you will get one. They have around 50 apartments, so make sure you specify ‘Swanlamer 12’, however if we are booked out I’m sure they can offer you a suitable alternative.
